I was just reading Dare’s post on personalized meme tracking. I have read a few other posts about this too. The memeorandum style of presenting feeds is a very good feature to add to any feed reader. This way I can get rid of all the posts on eclipse 3.2 M5 release at one go.
What I find surprising is that a feature that was (and still is) available in the first feed reader I used, SharpReader, is still not available in any other feed reader I have used after it. See screen shot above. It uses a simple logic to group together posts. SharpReader looks for links in posts and ties posts which have common links or link to another post.
Meme tracking applications like memeorandum and TailRank
use more complex algorithms to bring together various posts on the same
topic. It would be great to have similar features in feed readers.
Update: Looks like RSS Bandit also has a similar feature. Sorry I missed that. Now Dare and Torsten are planning to bring much better meme tracking to Rss Bandit.

Think, you should have a closer look to RSS Bandit at http://www.rssbandit.org/ow.asp?ScreenShots
What we want is a concept that goes behind that.

Torsten,
Thanks for pointing that too. I am looking forward for the new features you are planning.
