Performancing for Firefox: Blog right from Firefox

31 Jan

Performancing for Firefox has been around for a little while. But only with 1.1 I was able to get it to work with dasBlog properly. To configure it for dasBlog see this post.

Till now BlogJet was my posting tool of choice. But it does not work behind my company’s proxy server. Thought it is a supported feature. I have waited for a year to get this fixed but looks like it will not be. :-(

Coming to Performancing it is a Firefox extension which supports a wide variety of blogging platforms like wordpress, blogger and APIs like MetaWeblog, MovableType and Blogger. It supports technorati tags. It can also bookmark your posts at delicious automatically.

It has a WYSIWYG editor for writing posts and has spell check enabled by SpellBound. You can save posts as drafts and edit previous posts.

The only feature I like to see in this it the ability to upload images via FTP. I have already posted this as a request hopefully it will be added soon.

The best part is that it is nicely integrated with Firefox.
