I have been using FeedBurner for my feed for about a month now. I am quite impressed with the service they provide. They just added a new feature called FeedFlare. It is adds image links for posting to del.icio.us, email to friend, email author… to the footer of each blog post. Here is the complete list of options available.
- most popular tags for this item via del.icio.us
- tag this item at del.icio.us
- Technorati cosmos: number of links to this post
- Creative Commons license for this specific item. This works even if you are splicing, say, a Flickr photo feed into a blog feed and the two parent feeds have different licenses associated with them.
- number of comments on this post (currently only for feeds created by WordPress)
- email this item
- email the author of this item (particularly helpful if the item ends up spliced into another feed or repurposed on a site).
They plan to add more options to this. They will also release an API for users to add more such features. Sounds cool.
But currently once you add this feature to your feed, it adds the footer to all the current posts. This will make all the posts to show up again in aggregators. I do not want this to happen that is why I have not added this feature yet. They are planning to add an option to add the footer to only new feeds. I will use this when that happens.
